Invitation to Participate

You are invited to get involved with Shuswap Geoquest. Be part of the fun, adventurous activity that everyone can enjoy. This is a great way to meet new people, share ideas, and create teamwork with others in the community. Our quest is to promote the Shuswap through creativity and technology. There is a tremendous opportunity to take advantage of the trend to use technology for tourism. Over 100 million people use technology such as Google maps every day. By increasing the internet presence of the Shuswap more people will discover the region as a destination for all seasons. The goal is to put the Shuswap on the virtual map by putting quality pictures, video and other content on the internet. We are also promoting geocaching in the region as an environmentally friendly recreational activity for people of all ages. We invite you to join us in developing creative new caches to be hidden in unique locations. We are encouraging people to take ownership of caches with the ability to monitor and update the on-line listing and log. You do not need any experience or technical skill to participate. Whatever your interests, we can incorporate your ideas into the project. This initiative will increase options for recreation, community involvement, and environmental stewardship. Throughout the project we are looking to identify opportunities for community development. To find out how to get involved, contact James by phone at 250.833.3111 or e-mail: geoquest@futureshuswap.com
